I think I’ve found a place to call home.

Wasssss a lonnnnng time ago … I was 14 … But OMG … The mountains, the lakes, the falls, the prairie! It’s an excellent combo mix for “flatlanders” who want to see the mountains but don’t want to get too far from the prairie.

Well I’ve moved “up state” which is just hysterical to me since I hear that I could drive another 8 hours and still be in New York. That would be like saying Dallas is by mmm Amarillo … in the panhandle! ... but … “up state” according to the courts is all counties N of Westchester. I know this because we’re renting from a lawyer.

Anyway … I want to go at Christmas and take a carriage ride around Central Park.

And in February I want to go to a miniature show at a hotel in Times Square.

Love it! Go there as often as I can. Maybe I’m just running into all the friendly tourists … but … then again I told one realtor about my experiences and she just said I knew how to bring out the best in New Yorkers.

And why not? They’re a stubborn lot. They know what they think and why they think it. Not a bunch of bleating lamb wannabes.

And that explains why I love NY and barely tolerate Oregon.

I’ve actually started a settlement process in Putnam County … considering moving out of Limbo. If I can just stop waiting for the next hard turn in the road, I think I could adjust. ... for example … even now my husband is speaking to an old customer who is now in the West Indies … somewhere near Venezuela!! ... and my heart is in a panic! ... He’s saying no, no No Way.

But then again … I’m even further north and soon the snow will start … and then what?

I’m really not sure you can pick a bad time to go to the Oregon Coast.

My husband is working there now. I miss him very very much. I am stuck in Oregon until July 23.

I am a Dallas, Texas Native. I am dredding culture shock and the re-adjusting. I am looking forward to the countryside and the history. I am dredding snow. I am anticipating fall.
