Casa de Esperanza Children's Home, Anahuac, Mexico
The Casa de Esperanza (House of Hope) Children’s Home is located about 40 miles from Chihuahua Chihuahua, Mexico. About 70 children reside and attend school there. Last summer, I participated in a Mission Trip to “The Casa” where I was able to help with renovations and remodeling.
Because I love to teach ESL, reading to the children in Spanish was expecially rewarding for me. The kids especially liked Huevos Verde con Jamon’ (Green Eggs and Ham).
The climate there is arid, with warm days and cool nights. “Gringos,” as were were called, were treated with respect and hospitality.
I love the people and places of Mexico!
