Slickety Jim's Chat & Chew

Worth visiting!

Great Food!

I love this little restaurant. There is always a line up on the weekend, but it’s worth waiting. The interior decor is slightly spastic, but entertaining to stare at!

Menu items have clever names, and are incredibly delicious! The egg’s benedict is awesome, as are the omlettes and everything else I’ve tried on the menu!

Natural and organic selections, and vegetarian friendly. Don’t miss it if you are in Vancouver and like something out of the ordinary!

The Naam

Worth visiting!

Mmm

The Naam has awesome food! If you are vegetarian, or vegan, or you just like yummy food and don’t require meat in your meal, you will enjoy yourself here!

Make sure you get some of their sesame fries with a side of miso gravy! I had to buy a bottle of that stuff, I like it so much!

Great place, and open super late!

Mondo Gelato

Worth visiting!

Holy Gelato, Batman!

This is the best frigging gelato I’ve ever had! We go there very often in the summer, and ocassionally in the winter when we just can’t wait!

My personal favourite is the Guava flavour, but they are all soooo good! They have a pushiest-served-first policy, so as long as you can squeeze your way in and wave your arm around, you can beat the insanely long line up.

Free scoop on your birthday, too!

Cinema Fifth Avenue

Worth visiting!

Great Cinema!

I love this little cinema. They always play the most unique movies, and get the really original stuff before the other, bigger theatres.

Small and comfy, a great place to watch a movie!

Richmond

Not worth visiting!

Not sure why you'd want to go here!

Richmond is just a suburb of Vancouver. It really doesn’t have much to offer, apart from lots of shopping for the people who live in or near Richmond!

Traffic is an absolute NIGHTMARE here. Don’t bother going to Richmond unless you are going to the Vancouver International Airport or driving through to visit Delta.

Okanagan

Worth visiting!

Mm... the fruit!

The fruit from the Okanagan is unbelieveable. I lust after the cherries and peaches!

We try to get down that way once a year, in the summer. The fruit is worth the drive!

UBC

Worth visiting!

Lovely in the Spring!

I love visiting the UBC grounds in the spring and summer. When the roses are blooming, it is so beautiful!

Make sure you walk down to the beaches (Wreck, or Tower) if you are out at UBC.

A beautiful campus!

Royal British Columbia Museum

Worth visiting!

Great Museum!

I took a group of Girl Guides here last weekend. It was my second visit in a few years, but I still really enjoyed it.

Lots for everyone to see and enjoy here! Even if you aren’t into the special display they have on at the time, there is heaps of other stuff there to see. On Saturdays, they have volunteers who know a lot about the displays and can answer any questions you or the kids might have.

Among my favourite displays: the native artwork and masks, the totem poles, the Old Town, and the wolley mammoth!

Don’t miss it if you are in the city!

Vancouver Island

Worth visiting!

Heaven!

Vancouver Island is my favourite place on earth. I really hope to live there one day!

Ocean, mountains, trees, fresh air, solitude. I can’t find anything I dislike about the island!

Ladner

Worth visiting!

Oh, Ladner!

I grew up in this little town. It’s one of those places that you can’t wait to escape from when you are a teenager, yet you fondly look back on as an adult.

It was a great place to go grow up. It was safe for us to ride our bikes up and down the cul-de-sac we lived on. Lots of parks and lots of schools for such a little place! The Reifel Bird Sanctuary is nearby, too.

A quiet little town that is growing very quickly!
