Sweets On The Square, Lawrenceville

Delicious and distinctive

So few places make square cupcakes! These are delicious: moist, flavorful, and with just the right amount of icing. (Sadly, they aren’t cheap, but cupcakes are too trendy right now…)

Of course, they make more than cupcakes, and it is all beautiful and tasty. Makes me hungry just thinking about it!

The Varsity Restaurant, Atlanta

Delicious and unusual.

I adore The Varsity! Though I’m an Atlanta native, I never visited until eighth grade.

But my husband I go at least a couple of times a year…no mean feat when we live way out in central Gwinnett County!

Wonderful chili dogs, excellent peach fried pie and onion rings, and some of the best Coca-Cola you’ll ever have.

Health food it’s not, but I love it as an occasional treat! Sit in the back, on an upper level, at night and see the lights.

Six Flags Over Georgia, Austell

If you love roller coasters, here’s a tip: Get to the park early. Then, go straight to the back corner of the park and ride Superman: The Ride. It’s incredible, and the lines get VERY long later in the day. If you’ve ever wanted to know what Lois Lane felt like in the first Superman movie, this is it.
