I live in Utah and I love Utah. I can’t say that I want to live here forever, but I’d be happy living here and just traveling the world and seeing new places. My favorite thing to do is drive up Provo Canyon. There is so much beauty up there and it goes for miles and miles. Growing up we would go fishing and camping and boating, all activities that were minutes away or an hour and a half at most and the time taken to drive there was well worth it as it was a beautiful drive. It’s like you are sight-seeing on the way to your destination. Every time I go up there, I take a trip back in time to when it was so simple. You didn’t have road construction because the roads were made of dirt and you didn’t have credit card bills or really many bills because you didn’t have the credit cards or the electricity or the car. You had a home and a family and maybe some livestock or a farm. You made your living working on making your living. You grew most of your own food or hunted most of your own food. You worked at home and everything else that you had was just extra. Family meant everything and a hard day’s work was a reward of its own. When I go out there, I feel free and the stress drains away and it’s an amazing feeling that I would recommend to all. If you come here, don’t go for the traditional vacation and spend loads of money, get here and just be a part of the place. Drive, sit out in nature, stand under bridal veil falls, a few dollars will get you a ride down the river in a raft or tube. It’s simple fun that rarely costs a penny and that makes it so much better.
