We lucked out and ended up in Lisbon celebrating St. Antonio Festival I believe it was called. What a blast, there’s parades forever and people in strange costumes prancing around. Get down there early and try some sardines. We went to the Bairro Alto afterwards which was also good fun but I hear people go to the castle to party…I couldn’t be bothered to walk all the way up there again.

The next day is a holiday but the post office is open surprisingly. It’s a good day to go to Sintra, that’s where we went. Beautiful beautiful place…I come from Canada and I was still astounded by the nature in Sintra.

The city overall is really cute, people are very friendly, I want to go back!! The ups and downs will ensure that you get a bun and thigh workout, you can’t go wrong.

I spend about 2.5 weeks in Greece and I would say if I had to do it again, I would skip Athens. Although the market is almost worth it all. The city is crumbling, it’s dirty, crowded, and smoggy. The only thing that’s still standing is the Acropolis. I didn’t even bother going up because I was boiling in 40 degrees of heat and fearing that my sandals would melt off my feet. You’re not missing all that much if you skip Athens in my opinion.

Ok so don’t get me wrong, I had the time of my life staying at the Pink Palace in Corfu, but it’s so suffocating you end up ignoring the rest of the island, which I’m sure is even more beautiful than the Agios Gordos area. The food is impeccable and fairly cheap if you walk just up the hill and around the corner. So worth venturing out of the Pink Palace “resort”. Corfu is home to my favourite waters to swim in. It is astounding there, the water is warm enough to swim in at night and the waves are fun. Lots to do and see on this little island, probably worth renting a scooter or something although those things are just trouble.

This island was beautiful and I had a great time tanning and swimming. Not a heck of a lot to eat (I was at Burger King almost the entire time), flooded by German tourists – I couldn’t find Spanish anywhere! Nightlife is mediocre to bad, lots of other options in Spain that are far more exciting. I’m sure you can find great tanning and nice waters all over Spain, so this island is skippable.

I lived in Trieste as an au pair for almost a year. I know most things about the city so ask away. It’s really quite nice and in the summer, it’s great if you’re a fan of the sea and there’s a nice rock beach. Lots of sailing going on, some cute bars, very “old” population though. Very picturesque. It’s definitely better than Venice in my opinion…and it’s not tourist run, gives you a bit of a break if you want to get out from the mobs of tourist.

My uncle lives here and I had a great time here. The weather always seems to be at the perfect temperature, not too hot that is…there doesn’t seem to be any mosquitoes around as strange as that seems. The beaches are stunning and food is great. It’s small and quaint, filled with lots of little things like the butterfly gallery and such, definitely worth a full weekend or more, if you love the beach life. It’s a bit overrun by British tourists, but just ignore them and it’s fine.

I don’t know if this would be my top choice to visit if I went to Malaysia. It’s like any other big city, lots of buildings, towers, shopping, etc. I’d much rather venture into the smaller places in Malaysia with the mountains, beaches, forests, caves, etc.

I lived in Tokyo and went to school there on exchange for 3 months awhile back. I had a phenomenal time, the people are super nice, shopping is surperb, food is great, lots of things to do and see. Worth visiting for awhile.

Cute city, lots of history, great shopping, I don’t recommend driving, it’s a really hard city to figure out, every street crosses each other and is parallel at the same time…great seafood…hmmm…

What a cute little place to visit, the tower is phenomenal, I wasn’t expecting to be so in awe over it. Quick visit, good eats, nice beach a bus ride away.
