Eubank, Kentucky
Untitled
When we first moved to Kentucky, we lived in a mobile home on FIL’s land near Crab Orchard. Then, wanting/needing a bigger place, we moved into a rent house in Broadhead. We loved the place, but the landlord said he was going to sell. So we had to move again. A co-worker put us in touch with her landlord, who must own a majority of the real estate in Eubank. Most of the homes are smaller and older. And you know that song “Boondocks”…well, I really hear the lullaby of the midnight trains, if you KWIM. Anyway, it’s not very exciting to live here, but we can get to chain drug/department/grocery stores within 1/2 hour and to a big city within two hours. As of this posting, I know of one stop signed-intersection in town, and I don’t think there are any traffic lights.

I can’t really give an answer to that one…I just always have wanted to visit. Some years ago, an acquaintance of mine said she and her mother were going there and, knowing of my interest, asked if she could bring me anything back. I asked for a small container of soil. Weird, I know. If I could have more than one thing…then I might go for a more “traditional” giftie, but not haggis, unless it comes with copious quantities of Glenlivet.
