Worth visiting!
Went here...
... at the age of 10. The family went on a cruise (Fairstar, the fun ship) visiting Fiji, Vanuatu and New Caledonia, and we had a great time. Will have to get back there one day.

As with Alice Springs, we drove past the turn-off to Uluru many times over the years. When I went to my friends’ wedding in Alice last year, a group of us decided to take a day trip… I actually changed my flight to allow the extra time for this, and am glad I did.
It was a long day, but well worth it. The climb was closed the day we went, but we did the walk around the base. It’s amazing to see it up close.

I’ve lived in Melbourne now for 11 years, and still love it (don’t read anything into my heading overseas for a couple of years!).
It has a great mix of cultures, and there’s so much to do and see. There are some fantastic areas for eating, and the cafe lifestyle is fabulous. Still haven’t done all of the touristy things Melbourne has to offer, but will get there eventually!

Passed through Alice many times doing the family trip from Darwin to Adelaide, but as we were always in a hurry to get to our destination, we never stopped to look around… usually it was just an overnight stay, then the next morning we were on our way.
Last year friends got married in Alice (their home town), so stayed for a few days. Granted, it’s not a huge place, but worth checking out… if you allow yourself time to really take in the environment, flora and fauna, it’s quite fascinating. Make sure you get out to the Desert Park too. We hired push bikes and rode around town, which was a great way to get around.

My father’s side of the family are based in and around Adelaide, and we spent many school holidays travelling from Darwin to visit relatives. My sister has lived there for about 8 years or so, and a good friend returned home to Adelaide a couple of years ago, so there’s plenty of incentive for me to visit.
It’s a very pretty city, with lovely beaches. The hills surrounding the city are worth checking out too. The only thing I find frustrating about Adelaide is the lack of street signs… drives me nuts.

... but Sydney is a great place to visit. I like the… well, for lack of a better word, I like the vibe of Sydney. The harbour is fabulous, well worth taking a trip around.
I just find Sydney a little too higgledy piggledy layout-wise, so wouldn’t consider it a viable living option at this point. Who knows though, might find that suits me at a later stage.

A good friend from my primary school days has lived there for a few years now, and have been to visit a couple of times. Also went for a conference in 2004.
The city centre is quite funny though… there seemed to be multiples of many of the shops, so every corner you turned, there was a real sense of deja vu. I was starting to get the impression that Brisabanites as a society suffer short term memory difficulties ;-)

Hobart is a gorgeous city… went here for a conference in 2003. Would have liked more time to look around, and would like to see the rest of Tassie too!
Will definitely get back here one day.

I grew up in Darwin, and my parents are still there. It’s a beautiful place, and I believe is a must see. You can either experience the amazing storms and rainfall in the wet season, or if you’re not into humidity, visit in the dry season… when it’s still warm, but the locals are out in jumpers and jeans, shaking their heads at the ‘mad tourists’ in the swimming pools! Love going back to visit, and perhaps might get back to stay one day
