I lived in Florence for three weeks last summer, met my best friend there, and had an absolutely fantastic time.
Try going to Angie’s. It’s a little “artsy” bar with euro.50 Sangrias. You can also ask at the bar for “the notebook” and you’ll get to look through/add to a little sketchbook. Very fun!
Going to San Marco is also a must in my opinion. There’s a series of Fra Angelico’s frescoes there that have a very modern feel and are absolutely beautiful. (My favorite is The Mocking of Christ… so neat)
