    Austin Children's Museum

    Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place  — 2 years ago

They featured a lunch time “concert” in the lobby. The space is great for toddlers—they don’t have to stay in their seats, and they can dance and explore while listening to the music.

It was great to meet my friends their with their kiddos, the kids got to have a lot of fun, and we didn’t have to worry about what they were getting into. We all had a good time.

Best if you can bring a kid for “cover.” ;-)

    Fredericksburg

    Worth visiting!

Birthday Fun  — 2 years ago

Spent my birthday in Fredericksburg. We rented a little B&B (just one room!) with a private hot tub out back. Soaking in the warm water and looking up at the stars was a delight!

The next day, we hiked around Enchanted Rock. Next time, I would hike first, then soak in the tub. ;-)

It is about a 90 minute drive from Austin. If you have the time, and enjoy seeing pretty countryside, then I would recommend this to visitors to Central Texas.

    Oaxacan Tamaleo's

    Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to locals  — 2 years ago

Unbelievably tiny, and a limited menu. Very fresh with authentic Oaxacan touches. (We had some incredible tomatos there the other week, apparently from someone’s garden.. ohmy!)

Pick between lovely Mole, tamales or grilled Talapia. Always check for the daily special, for you never know what Leo might have ready.

if you are not convinced by the location (inside a mini-mart…) just follow the steady stream of locals for some authentic Oaxacan treats.
