Denmark

(in Europe)

Worth visiting!

News about this place

This might be news for you!

Copenhagen is the capitol of Denmark

Not the capitol of Scandinavia or Sweden or any other place in the world.

Please – don’t go to the Swedish capitol Stockholm and tell people there – that you’ve just visited their capitol Copenhagen.

It is like people who believe that New York is the capitol of USA or Sidney is the Capitol of Australia or Amsterdam is the capitol of Netherlands – they are not capitols – but famous and beautiful cities.

Repeat:

Copenhagen – capitol of Denmark
Stockholm – capitol of Sweden

Impress us, and surprise us – show us that you are well educated.

Skansen

Worth visiting!

I've been working here since 1975

I started as a teenager – worked with the horses.

Then – 10 years later, I started to work as a guide – in the old houses.

And I love my job.

Come to Skansen and I will tell you something interesting about the Swedish history – and you can tell me something about your country.

Monet's Garden

Worth visiting!

To go into a painting

Have you seen the paintings of the water lilies, by Monet? Or the Japanese bridge? Or the boats? Or some other beautiful flowers – painted by Monet?

It’s possible to go in to those paintings.
At least it feels like being in one of his paintings.

I strongly recommend this trip.

Palace of Versailles

Worth visiting!

The loooong queue

There’s a loooong queue outside the museum – so bring something to sit on, an umbrella, something to eat and something to drink.

There is also a lot of thieves around – so be careful.

I strongly recommend an audio guide!

Kulturen

(in Sweden > Skåne > Lund)

Worth visiting!

Outdor museum

Kulturen is a bit like Skansen in Stockholm.

Skansen is the oldest outdoor museum in the world – Kulturen is the second oldest, founded by Georg Karlin in the 19th century.

There you can see some old buildings and exhibition about how people use to live.

But I think that Skansen is a better museum – because there you can see people dressed like we did those days – in the houses – and yoou can also hear a story – because the old fashion dressed museum guides at Skansen knows a lot about their houses.

It’s a pity they haven’t got this at Kulturen in Lund.
