This is a great place for any horse lover… tons of cool exhibits, many breeds of horses from all over the world, the International Museum of the Horse, etc. etc.

over 7 years agoI got the worst sunburn of my long and sunburned life in Texas. Now, ten years later, even the thought of Texas makes my nose peel.
over 7 years agoEven though I had terrible sunstroke in New Mexico, it was still beautiful and fun. Needless to say, the Mexican food was plenty reason enough to go, at least for this New Englander.
over 7 years agoI watch the sun rise over Yankee Stadium every morning from my apartment right across the Harlem River… all baseball fans (even Yankee-haters) should take a trip there.
over 7 years agoWell, I think the Tom’s most people are thinking of is the one from both the Suzanne Vega song and the show Seinfeld, which is not in Brooklyn, but on 112th and Broadway in Manhattan. It’s not actually called Tom’s Diner, but Tom’s Restaurant. “Bells of the Cathedral” in the Suzanne Vega song refers to the bells of Saint John the Divine nearby. The food’s okay, but nothing too great.
over 7 years agoAmherst is a pretty nice town, especially in the summer when all the college kids are away. Then it’s quiet and sleepy, with shorter lines at Rao’s Coffee (best coffee I’ve ever had, really, so good). Great farmer’s market on Saturday mornings.
The whole Scooby-Doo/5-College thing is fun but just a myth. Hampshire College wasn’t even established when Scooby-Doo first aired. But it is a neat comparison. No one seems to be able to decide whether Daphne/Velma went to Smith or Mount Holyoke. It doesn’t really matter. The other stereotypes are fairly apt, however.
over 7 years agoRichmond smells like hot, wet, canned dog food.
over 7 years agoWilkes-Barre is by far the worst place I have ever lived. It’s very depressing and pathetic. Don’t bother.
over 7 years agoNorthampton is a near-perfect little town. Eat, shop, girl-watch, music, museums, Herrell’s ice cream, Smith College (my alma mater), the Connecticut River, Vermont only 45 minutes away, beautiful farmland, open, friendly, safe… wonderful. Can’t wait to move back.
over 7 years agoThe Oyster Bar has the best New England clam chowder in the world. And it’s one of the cheaper food options in Grand Central.
