Puntarenas, Punarenas

Untitled

The water takes some getting used to; the waves can be strong and the salinity can be too, but this is an excellent place to surf and watch for sea turtles. The wildlife is fun, too: iguanas and scarlet macaws are just a couple of the species you may see at any given moment.

La Fortuna Falls, Costa Rica

Untitled

La Fortuna Falls is absolutely beautiful; breathtaking. The water is incredibly cold, and the falls are dangerous to swim in: if you get too close to them you will be sucked under, possible causing death, and if you swim too far away from them you will most likely be pushed onto the sharp rocks surrounding. Meanwhile, the falls create waves that are strong to resist. But the swim is worth it – there is a small cave underneath the falls that is very pretty. All in all, it is a fantastic place to visit. I highly recommend it.

Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica

Untitled

Arenal is beautiful from any angle. At night, you can observe the constant eruption from a distance, and it is fun to hike up, too. I rode on horseback up it, then ziplined down. The trees are gorgeous, too. Also, a little known fact: the lake where “Congo” was filmed is located here.
