Indiana, United States

Michigan City in Northwest Indiana is a nice, friendly town with plenty of shopping, good restaurants and it’s a quick and easy commute to Chicago. Within one hour is Chicago, Notre Dame University, great malls and less than three hours from Six Flags Great America. It’s a small town that’s really quite pretty. Lots of trees line the streets and the downtown area is being revitalized. There’s even a casino. Orchards and farm markets are open in the spring through fall and the area is rich with history and historical architecture. Lovely lake view, though I don’t recommend non-locals from going too deep. The riptides are quite strong and can be deadly.
