Some of the remoteness of the UP (snowmobile-only bars, unpaved roads, can camp for days without seeing another person) and all of the culture of Ann Arbor (live folk shows, independent art cinemas, art in the park). I want to move there, not just visit once a year.

i’m spending huge amounts of time here and in the surrounding area.

So wonderous. Such an intense experience

but Frasier Hill was more remote and unspoiled. Cameron Highlands was like a beautiful resort anywhere in the world – nothing unique to set it apart.

A little less well-kept up than other tourist destinations, but still a beautiful city with so much culture and history.

As of 1986, mostly unspoiled and a relief after city life in KL.

Seriously. It was an incredible experience. Everybody should have to live overseas for at least a year growing up.

It was like European vacation – without the sex, booze, comedy, or discomfort. Basically the 11 of us had a blast and we got along about 75 % of the time. Which, for 11 family members, is inconcievable!

In just over a month! Woohoo!
