Summer in Tehran in 1974 doing theater with a local community group, I met so many wonderful peoplke and learned so much about the world…I was only 19, and had no idea of the poiltical and social turmoil that lay just ahead…no sense of the rage and fury that soon was to be unchained…and I am always a little sad to reflect on how wide the gap between our cultures and countries have become…but my memories of the city and the friends I made there have never faded.

If you’re coming to Kansas City, don’t miss the Crossroads Arts District…especially if you happen to be here on the First Friday of the month, when this thriving neighborhood really comes alive with thousands of local residents and visitors strolling the sidewalks, checking out each other and the new art exhibitions at the many local galleries and art spaces—over forty at last count! Fun restaurants and funky retail shops too, the Crossroads Arts District is one of downtown KC’s favorite places.
