Worth visiting!

Wonderful food!!

We had the Shrimp Tempura, Fried Green Tomatoes, Blackstrap Baby Back ribs and a rib eye, all delicious!! We don’t recommend the key lime pie or the coconut cream pie though, they were just your average store bought. Next time I go I want to try there fire grilled pear apricot bread pudding!

The Sausage Link

Worth visiting!

Great Family Run...

diner and meat market. They have a great lunch plate special every Mon-Fri! The meat market has the freshest meats in town! And Boudin Stuffed Chickens to die for!! For those of you who don’t know, Boudin is a Cajun sausage made with pork, rice, and seasonings, then steamed until nice and hot! You can also find it made with shrimp, crawfish, and alligator, but pork is traditional.

Occoquan

Worth visiting!

Today was my second time...

to visit Occoquan. It’s a quaint little river town with lots of boutique shopping and garden cafe’s.

Mount Vernon Trail

Worth visiting!

My Daughter and I...

went biking on the trail. And boy do we hurt today! We live close to Mount Vernon Estate so we started near there on the trail and it’s all hills! It was a beautiful ride though, and well worth the pain.

Marienbrücke

Worth visiting!

I made the climb to the bridge twice...

the first time was in late winter, and it was a very difficult muddy climb! I wouldn’t recommend it. But the second time we made the climb it was a beautiful day! The path was easy to walk on and manageable. If you’re at Neuschwanstein Castle you should definitely make the journey up to the bridge! You will get an amazing view of the surrounding area from up there!

Mount Vernon

Worth visiting!

How amazing and beautiful!

Today I took my Aunt Barbara, and my daughter, Angela, to Mt Vernon Estate. We had a wonderful time. I recommend that everyone who can make it go here! Be prepared for the weather, almost everything involves an outdoor walk, and be prepared to spend most of the day wondering around the estate grounds. They are magnificent! The views of the Potomac River are breath taking!

Donald W. Reynolds Center For American Art And Portraiture

Worth visiting!

Untitled

I took my aunt here today. She’s a hobby painter, mostly water colors, but she’s worked with oil on canvas, pen/pencil on paper. And she also did a great charcoal of my son and daughter. Anyway, back to the center…we didn’t see all the exhibits, we kind of rushed through looking for specific pieces she wanted to see. A lot of the museum was displaying modern art, which is not our cup of tea, but I’d like to go back and see the sections we missed due to our lack of time.

Moss Bluff

Worth visiting!

Moss Bluff...

is a very small community outside of Lake Charles LA. There isn’t a lot to do in the city, but there are lots of things to do around it. Especially if you like the outdoors!

Wiggins

Worth visiting!

It's worth it to me!

Because I have friends who live there! Wiggins is a very very small town about 45 minutes north of Gulfport & Biloxi. Wiggins has a few very small shops, a Super Walmart, and soon they’ll have a bowling alley. For anything else you have to drive south to Gulfport or north to Hattiesburg. My friends have 62 acres of land with a nice pond and a pool. We love to go visit and target shoot, fish, and swim!
