Prince Edward Island, Canada

Small but nice

The last time I was there was August 2001. We went camping on the north east corner (at http://www.gov.pe.ca/visitorsguide/explore/parks/redpoint.php3) and it was HOT and WINDY the whole time. There isn’t much to “do” on that corner of the island except long walks and communing with nature. Since that’s why we went, it was a good choice. The thing that gets me about PEI is how they wangled FOUR Members of Parliament upon their entry into Confederation. And they still have 4 MPs for a population of 140,000 people. I loathe excess government.

Hong Kong, China

Asia or "the far East"

I didn’t have any destinations for this area on my list and was motivated to add Hong Kong because some fellow dog-bloggers live there with their two Golden Retrievers. My Dad has been there a couple of times on business and my dentist was born and grew up there but I don’t have any other connexions. But it’s always good to have diverse goals.

Chesapeake Bay, Virginia

magical

When I was a kid, we lived in Fort Lee Virginia. We kept a small sailboat on the James River and occasionally sailed down the river and out into The Bay. Once, while we were sailing there, some dolphins came by the boat and sailed with us in the bow wave. It was magical. Even though we lived there for three years, we never made it to Chincoteague or Assateague to see the horses. There is much to see all around the Bay and I would like to wander slowly around it, perhaps even on a bicycle.
