An old friend of mine and I drove down to see a concert in some small town that I can’t remember the name of now. We had fun, but left early the next day and didn’t get to see any more of the state. Since we did drive, we saw a lot of pretty scenery.

A good friend of mine goes to college in Nyack. My son and I spent a weekend visiting her and we walked around her beautiful campus and took lots of great pictures. We’re going back for a visit this weekend. It’ll be great to see her again.

My husband has a lot of family living in Annapolis MD, and a few of us rented a huge blue minivan and drove there for a family wedding. We had a lot of fun, but spent two cramped nights sharing a hotel room. Next time I hope we’ll be fewer, but still have a lot of fun.

Since I live on the border of NH, I’m not too far from Mass, and I have some family and many friends living there, so we visit frequently. I definitely wouldn’t want to live there, but there are some really great things to see. And I wouldn’t want to stop visiting.

4th of July weekend, 2004, my husband, son, and I all piled into the car for a spur of the moment car trip, and ended up driving all over Vermont. We finally found an open campsite, highly unlikely on that weekend, and spent a fun warm night in Vermont. I wish I could remember the town, but I know it was a state park.

I went here with the Girl Scouts. I didn’t have many friends and I was shy and awkward, but the sites we saw were pretty amazing. I’d like to go back again, now that I’m much older.

I’m not exactly sure where this is, but I went camping there with my best friend and her family when I was 15. We stayed an extra night because we thought it was such a beautiful place. Definitely go visit here.

This is a beautiful small town in the Upper Peninsula. My family spent many vacation here because it wasn’t too far from central Wis, and my stepdad grew up in Manistique. It’s right on Lake Superior and there’s a great lighthouse that we would make sure we always walked out to.

But don’t move here. Unless you like really hot dry summers, red dust in your lungs, and people saying “fixin to”.

My best friend likes it though.

I know there are a lot of jokes about Wisconsin, and there are probably many much better states out there to live in, but for me, growing up in Wisconsin generally wasn’t too bad. There’s a lot of open country land in Wisconsin, and the lakes are clean and large and fun to swim in.

Vacation here and there’s so much to do!
