Nelson's Dockyard, Antigua and Barbuda

Everything Ire!

If You are going to go to Antigua Nelson’s Dockyard is a very good choice if you like the serenity that an Island can offer.

The Copper Lumber Store Hotel is a 400 year old converted Copper & Lumber store. The Rooms are large and the staff is ultra friendly. Look out if it rains, as the entire hotel is preserved in its almost original state, so wooden beams dominate the structure and as I found out tend to leak if they get wet.

But Thomas… the night watchman/handyman/guy who sits at the front desk at night will fix almost any issue. I woke up early that morning after the night had rained and explained to him that it was raining in my room during the night, as I slept I felt raindrops hitting my head, knowing where I was, I just moved over and fell back asleep only to wake some 30 minutes later to the same dripping on my forehead. By the time I woke up my entire bed was wet and I found myself on the very edge of the bed. Now when I told this to Thomas he said, and I quote, “No worries mon, I fix for you, everything Ire”

when I returned from scouting a location, The ARC as the locals refer to it which is pretty cool to check out, it is one of the most famous cricket stadiums in the world, I entered the room to find my bed had been moved to the middle of the room.
