about a mile east of the falls (at least, i am pretty sure it is east) is a little park on a cliff. There is a stairwell leading down into the most incredible hiking trails. We take our daughter hiking there at least once a year. You can hike all the way down along the river to the whirlpool, where the gondola crosses. It’s totally beautiful and perfect for family hiking.

It’s motown…and the music is still off the chain…

Everything is SOOO green, very mystical. Haida Gwaii is beautiful, the smoked fishes are AMAZING. A little cold and rainy when I went, but still had a wicked time.

if you’re going to go to J.A, you MUST go beyond Mo’Bay (Montego Bay). Though it is nice, there are SOOO many other places to see. Make sure you take a trip (preferable with a local) into the hills (you don’ want to get lost in there!) and try some road side jerk chicken and roast corn (mmmm, corn) Of course, all the other usual places are a must see (dunn’s rivers, ochie, 9 mile etc.) but if you can check out the local area, see what life is really like in J.A. My father’s homeland, we moved to Kingston when I was 10…lived there for a few years and then back to T.O…LAWD how I miss roast breadfruit, ackee and sal’ fish on hardo toast, me miss the coco watah, sugah cane, the hills, the fresh fruit, lobstser patties (forget beef patties, these fresh, chunks of spicy delicious lobster..yum!) the mango trees, the cows and goats inna de street, sigh. one day me haffe go back.
