Paris, Ile de France

I love PARIS....

anytime! It’s been 23yrs since I’ve been there – a short break luxurious indulgence over the Xmas break. It was freezing (I’ll never forget that) and I’ll certainly never forget where we stayed – Hotel George V , went to the Louvre, the Musee d’Orsay, Moulin Rouge, a cruise on the Seine, Notre Dame and spent loads in the Galleria!! We crammed a lot into just 3 days.

Now, I’d love to go back….just to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, see a live concert and just soak up the buzz of everything french..sit sipping a Cafe au Lait & watch the french world go by.

Kailua, O'ahu

Was there in May 2009

Wish I’d found it sooner – such a beautiful place and such friendly people. I got the local bus from Waikiki for just $2USD, spent the day on the most beautiful white, sandy beach & swam in crystal clear waters. Would really love to go back some day and spend more time there.

Noumea, New Caledonia

My first overseas holiday!

1981 – a girlfriend from where I worked suggested we go on a holiday – overseas! I was so excited, as this would be my first time out of Australia. We decided on Club Med New Caledonia in Noumea. It was fantastic! And Oh So Very French!!

Although Club Med offers everything & more than you could possibly want within the resort, we went on a couple of day tours to explore the real Noumea. The main town was lovely, with great cafes, bars and shopping but it was the drive along the west coast and up into the mountains which really took our breath away. We met & spent time with people in their local villages, had lunch at a basket weaving pitstop and swam in crystal clear waters amongst lush, tropical rainforest.

I’m sure Noumea has changed somewhat but I still believe it would be well worth a visit, even today.
