Mont Saint Michel, Basse Normandie

Mont Saint Michel was worth seeing, but could easily feel like too much of a tourist trap if you take the main street up to the top. Our tour guides had us walk up the ‘back’ way, which allowed us to avoid the crowd and all the tourist shops. The main street should not be avoided, it is lined with cute little shops, but I would definately save it for the walk down, rather than up.
