I love France. Being British that really doesn’t feel right when I type it, but none the less it’s true. I’ve been multiple times… 3-4 times to visit family, once on a school trip and once to visit the Hellfest Open Air Festival in 2007. With the exception of Hellfest, where I found myself up to my arsehole in rain and mud, each visit has been characterised by perfect weather and friendly people, especially in the countryside.

That said, I’d love to go again. Not just to Hellfest (which was excellent) but also to visit Paris and the like. I’ve never been up the Eiffel Tower, to my shame. A trip for next year, maybe.

Wacken Open Air

I went to Germany in 2006 and 2007, both times attending the greatest festival in the world, and the most important event in any metalhead’s calendar, Wacken Open Air! The food was greasy, the beer was lethal, and the weed was… well, straight from Belgium, so really EVERYTHING was perfect. I’ve got so much love for Germany, and can’t wait to go back next year for Wacken ’08.
