great theatre. Great food. Beautiful vistas. Sports mania AND a fantastic arts community. And the lake, the lake, the lake. Sadly, the friends I used to visit there no longer live there…but it makes me happy just to think about all the fun and food I’ve had there.

Read the McCullough book, and learn the blood, sweat, tears, and lives-three generations’ worth-that went into this magnificent place. Then walk it, and feel the magic.

My late great-aunt lived about 10 minutes from this remarkable place, and we went a couple of times. What a glorious, crazy, family-loving, dream-chasing life Twain led, and you see it in every room.

And you can take your dog inside!
