Another new state! C and I made a quick trip here a couple of weeks ago, to pick up some friends from California who were coming for a visit. We took a quick driving “tour” through Trenton, to get a glimpse Stephanie Plum’s neighborhood. I haven’t really spent enough time here to know whether I’d want to spend a lot more time, but what we did see was all right. Except for the horrid motto on the bridge: “Trenton makes, the World Takes.” O_o

What a great museum! My son absolutely loved it, so much so that we became members. We haven’t seen the King Tut exhibit yet, but will go before it closes.

I’d never heard of this place, but saw the sign as we were driving by, so we decided to stop. It’s a real gem. Gorgeous cliff formations.

We spent the 14th night of our cross-country trip here. Didn’t really like the town very much, but I was tired of driving so this is where we decided to stop.

My son and I went on a dinosaur dig at the quarry here, and it was amazing! Offered through the Dinosaur Journey museum, we were taken to the dig, and shown what to do. My son and I found several dinosaur fossils, plus loads of fossilized plant matter. It was a wonderful, wonderful day!

This quarry is located in extreme western Colorado, about 15 minutes’ drive from Fruita.

This is a small, but good dinosaur museum. Great dinosaur fossils, plus some animatronic dinos, too. This was also the staging point for the dinosaur dig that we went on at a nearby quarry.

We spent the 13th night of our cross-country trip here, in preparation for our dinosaur dig.

We went whitewater rafting here, starting with Shoshone Rapids. It was AWESOME!

We saw loads of great stuff here – Moose, Elk, and a family of Coyotes with pups. A really beautiful park which I’d love to visit again sometime.
