Grew up near here. The only real canoeing/camping trip I’ve been on in the park was with my class for my grade 8 graduation, aaaaages ago. (It was actually a lot of fun, and not just because Bobby was flirting with me.)

It gets a bad rap, but really it’s no worse than any other galaxy. You just gotta go prepared.

I need to get to China this year while my friend Alex is still there and can show me around.

One of my favourite pictures of my grandmother is of her sitting on a camel in Morocco. Maybe someday I’ll be as cool as she was.

I want to go to the foreign students’ retreat at Kyaswa monastery http://www.vipassanahawaii.org/kyaswa.htm , at least, and maybe spend a longer time at Panditarama http://web.ukonline.co.uk/buddhism/pandita.htm .

—okay, so this isn’t really a place, but I’d still like to see bits of it. Central Asia may be scary now, but once it was the cultural and commercial centre of the world.
