Worth visiting!

Bornemouth

Bornemouth was a great visit! Beautiful little trek to a quaint little town with a town square and a beautiful beach that overlooks the English channel. There are some lovely pubs here and some fun clubs. Don’t overlook it as a place to go. Also, if you are so lucky you can find the grave of Mary Shelly- author of Frankenstein!

London

Worth visiting!

I think you are really fit!

London is grand. I don’t know if I could live there forever with the constant cloud cover but I very much enjoyed myself. All the usual touristy stuff is good to do- and if you’re using public transit get the bus pass instead of the tube pass because you’ll see more while you’re going around and it’s also much cheaper.

Spittalfields market was great even though I was almost pickpocketed there, Soho, Covent Garden,, you know the areas I’m talking about. Go tour around.

Buckingham Castle was a let down though. Very drab.

But London otherwise was very fab!

Paris

Worth visiting!

Mmmm J'aime la Paris!

Paris was great. My friend and I took the eurostar in the morning across to Paris, and toured around the Louvre, Champs D’lyssez, the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame. There was a good area for food around Notre Dame in the little alleyways where you could get a three course meal for ten euros (I think it’s a good deal anyhow) The crepes were great to munch on while we walked down the street, and of course I had to find Dior and tour around.

It was very cold in February- even colder than London. Brush up on your french before you go.

Tijuana

Worth visiting!

Bus across the border!

My family did one of those bus things across the border, and we went shopping in the main area of Tijuana where I learned how to bargain for stuff. “Make a deal!! Make a deal!” The places to eat were scattered so we didn’t eat much there. We saw men with machine guns guarding their buildings and I don’t know, it was an interesting thing to do for an afternoon. On the way back some people in our bus were quizzed about who is on the american penny. My family was just quickly ushered through. The border is very crazy- they even sell postcards of it!

New York City

Worth visiting!

I need to live there or something!

NYC is the best. The absolute best. Just a crazy energy, fun vibe sort of a place. The subway system is actually quite easy to figure out once you get used to it, so don’t be afraid to buy a metrocard and tour that. All the museums are fantastic. Go to Times Square and just sit in awe of everything. Go to the Bowry poetry club, go walk around St. Mark’s Place, go to Bloomingdales and Dylan’s on the upper east side.. Gosh, I can go on!

But I won’t! Because you have to go!

Pack your bags!!

Go!

St. Petersburg

Worth visiting!

St. Pete's Beach!

St. Pete’s is great! The sand is gorgeous and you can swim in the gulf of mexico till the cows come home. It’s very clear water and there are some really nice little restaurants.

Orlando

Worth visiting!

Orlando is touristy!

Oh man. This town is tourist central! Even the airport is designed to entertain tourists (That people mover tube thing is great!) Hotel prices are expensive, but I’m sure you can find a good deal there somewhere. There are lots of shops that sell seashells dyed blue that have glitter writing on them that say “Orlando”

Walt Disney World

Worth visiting!

Something for Everyone!

Walt Disney World is so huge and there’s something for everyone. Epcot centre was very much enjoyed by my scientist father, and me being into the entertainment field really enjoyed MGM studios for its kitchy charm.

Go on the Tower of Terror, eat at the 50’s diner, go listen to that song about how it’s a great big beautiful tomorrow…

It’s just a dream away!

Minot

Worth visiting!

Go for the Shopping!

My relatives live in Southern Manitoba so we went to Minot for the day to go to the mall. It was alright, and we went shopping and got some fun stuff to bring back. Minot itself is the stereotype of the “American City” with flags, flags everywhere (And this was pre 9/11). Very cute, but I wouldn’t stay for too long.

Kalispell

Worth visiting!

Stop Through

We just stayed in Kalispell one night when I was younger. There wasn’t much to do but the people were friendly and places to stay were inexpensive.
