Worth visiting!

gudeg city

Just don’t forget to eat Gudeg!!!!
A great city to go around!! Crowded, packed with motorcycle but definitely great people lives here!!!

If you happens to be in Yogya, make sure you go with the local to do Masanginan, a blindfolded walk between two big bayan trees in the alun2 of Yogyakarta (not the one that in front of the entrance of Keraton). the intention is to see whether your heart is pure and to have your wishes granted if you can walk pass two of these bayans.

Happy trying!!!

Borobudur Stupa

Worth visiting!

Great Candi!!!

One thing for sure, if you happen to be around Yogyakarta … don’t forget to have a glimpse of the Borobudur.

Make sure that you come before the sun shine to get the beautiful sight of Borobudur and the scenic view around this place! Make sure that you bring a lot of waters with you if you come around 12 in the broad day light because it can be exhausted!!! And the tour guide is a good thing to have!! it’s only 5 euro or at the most 7 euro for almost an hour talking!!! Take a private tour so you can decide when you want to stop or if you want to enhance the speed of story :) It won’t be a hard-feeling case as long as you state it politely and especially when it is too hot to be true!!

the sight of sunset also beautiful!!! So in short…make sure this is one of your list to go while you’re in Central of Java.

Bandar Lampung

Not worth visiting!

It was my HomeTown

Well to be truth…not many things that you can see in Bandar Lampung unless if you born here then there’s some obligation to come home :)

Not try to be cynical but the main problem the government not yet put a serious effort to build the infrastructure and some other accomodation in some historic areas of bandar lampung.

What might be things to do will be to visit the Anak Krakatau Mountain (the mother which is Krakatau Mountain was very well-known for its 1883 eruption). It is interesting to see but be careful for once-in-a-while-small eruption of Anak Krakatau.

Other thing you can do is to visit its almost white beach :) I think Kalianda Resort will be good option to go or some small islands near Lampung. If you’re not too tired than you can have a 8 hours driving to Way Kambas which well-known as elephant sanctuary. It used to be sumatera tiger sanctuary but I guess nobody really know whether this rare animal still exist or not (at least I was not well-informed with the exact number of sumatera tiger at this moment). At this place you can see some attraction from the elephants. Great to bring kids here but don’t forget to bring your own food supply!!

If you want to do some rough driving up to the north Sumatera then I should say Bandar Lampung will be worth visiting to stop over and to eat as much as you like because it is going to be the only place that dluxurioys to eat. Stop by at the Begadang!! They served best food along the Trans sumatera (at least for my tummy:)

If you want to stay in this city, then check hotel Andalas or Hanum for a cheap version around 15-20 euro per night with breakfast and a real decent place to sleep plus it’s pretty much in the city centre. For an expensive version try Indra Puri Hotel for 36-40 euro pernight for its standard bedroom (2 persons) with breakfast and beautiful view of Semangka bay. The room itself won’t be that great but has its own bathtub and nice view. Or you can check in to Sheraton for 50 euro per night. It also offers an excellent service.

That’s all I guess that I need to share!:) Enjoy your visit to BDL!

Torajah

Worth visiting!

Untitled

Just get back from a total relaxing short journey from Tana Toraja, a little magnificient county in the Sulawesi Island, Indonesia.

If you’re looking for a city buzz and busy nightlife then it’s not going to be the prime choice to go for. But for a culture lover and seek for serenity plus beautiful view (and a bit of adventure) then it will be a great option to try. At least it is for us.

We spent only 4 days and 3 nights in the Rantepao (capital city of Toraja). The hotel was standard but their service is good. I spent a good 15 euro per night for a double bed with bathtub plus a fine breakfast. The atmosphere is great. It has a combination of padi field and river. Torajan also well-known for their burial ceremony that more like a wedding feast than a sad burial service. If you’re lucky you might be able to have a chance to have a glimpse.

The only thing that bit a problem is on reaching this place. It will take you 10 hours with bus from Makassar (the capital city of south Sulawesi), the nearest city with international airport. The alternative is waiting for a flight to go from Makassar to Toraja which only available twice a week. It will costs you around 38 euro (inclusive return flight).

A worth to go if you near Sulawesi. We definitely would love to go back and next time we will take a rafting tour that might cost us a fortune (200 euro per person).
