I went as part of a short term mission group in 1994. It was truly a life-changing experience, though I am sorry to say how easily one can slip back into western materialism upon returning from such an experience.

The hospitality we were shown was like nothing else on earth. Such a land of contrasts and life!

Who thinks these places up? by Gwyneth1

During a three week short term mission trip, we were taken here for the “experience,” which indeed it was. At one point, one of the waiters came by asking if we wanted any chicken hearts, this after already having crocodile, zebra and hartebeest. One of my colleagues looked at him and said, “No, I like chicken liver, but not the heart.” Within minutes, he was back with a plate of chicken livers for us!

This is where I live right now. I wouldn’t say it’s not worth visiting, but heck, it’s only two hours from Madison, which is worth visiting!
