My great grandparents each came from Slovenia in the 1920’s. They met in Cle Elum, WA, married and raised a homestead on the Olympic Peninsula. They had two daughters and I heard Slovenian spoken in my gramma’s kitchen when I was young, especially when they were talking about something they didn’t want me to “hear”. I never had the chance to learn the language and, though I know I must have relatives there, I’ve never been to visit. Hope to one day.

Lincoln Elementary

I was born in Forks and started my education at the now extinct Lincoln Elementary School. I still visit at least once a year and hope someday to move back permanently. I should go add this goal to my 43things…
