Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Faneuil Hall
Understand the history at Fanueil Hall
Faneuil Hall is called the Cradle of Liberty. It has held many important meetings and still does. Most recently Kerry gave his consession speech there. Be sure you go upstairs and listen to the FREE talk from a National Park Service guide.
I work near there and often walk thru and see tourists taking pictures of Quincy Market in back of it. Nobody has any idea that the real destination is right behind them.
Qunicy Market used to be an old fish market. Now it is really nothing more than an indoor/outdoor mall with everything at full price. I would not go so far as to say tourist trap though.
But, Durgin Park is the restauraunt to eat at. They sit you at group tables as if you are at chow like they would if you were working on a boat and in port. The decor has not changed much either. Give yourself a feel for the city.

Just look at the pictures
I love how it looks. I love looking out at boats on a harbor. I can picture wifey in a lounge chair next to me sipping a drink wearing big black sunglasses and a big hat.
