Machu Picchu, Cusco Region

Hated my tour guide... by GabyEA

I was in Cuzco last May, but Macchu Picchu was the trip I liked least. You have to wake up EARLY to catch a train before 6:00 AM, travel for about 4 hours and when you arrive there at noon, there are lots of tourists trying to do the same visit. So the place is crowded and the guides (at least mine) just want to make it quickly. And you have to take the train back before 3:00 PM. I hate doing things in a hurry!

A friend of mine recommended me to take the train the afternoon before. (I regret I didn’t listen to her). This is a “non-tourists” train only for local people, but she told me that there are few seats reserved for tourists. So you sleep at Aguas Calientes and visit Macchu Picchu by yourself early in the morning. You can take your time and enjoy the place before the troops of tourists arrive.

Sacred Valley, Cusco Region

Beautiful!!! by GabyEA

The Sacred Valley is between Cuzco and Machu Picchu. It is spectacular! Great weather, beautiful views, ancient history, big rivers and trails. If I’m not wrong, you can start the Inca Trail from here.

I would like to go there, only with my backpack and lots of energy to walk and walk and walk. And watch and watch and watch.
