New York City

Worth visiting!

Everyone should experience a "Mega city"

It can give one an appreciation for peace, quiet, hospitality and cleanliness of anywhere else! I love the energy of NYC, but get so sick of the rudeness and filthiness. I was actually born here, but my parents had the foresight to move away when I was 6 years old. I go back regularly to visit family in Queens, and always make it into “the city” at least once per visit. I lived here for 1 year (1990-91), but couldn’t wait to move out at the end of ny apprenticeship (had alway thought I wanted to live in the Big Apple before that!). But I think everyone should spend at least 3 days here, just to experience it. (A bonus would be for everyone to have to drive there too! or at least ride in a cab…)

Orlando

Worth visiting!

Since becoming a parent, I have come to appreciate this place...

We like Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure best (smaller than Disney, easier to navigate). But love Disney cruises for their hospitality and amenities.

New Orleans

Worth visiting!

I just love NOLa! Both pre- and post Katrina!

The first time I went there, on a business trip (we stayed in Hammond and only had a few hours in actual NOLa), I fell in love with this place. That was in 1992. I never made it back until 2004, and it was great. Then we planned on going for my husband’s 50th birthday, which fell Mardi Gras weekend 2006. Booked the trip in 6/05, then Katrina hit. I was so worried about the city, it’s people, and what would be left. We decided to still go for Mardi Gras, if nothing else, to help boost the economy. Boy, did we have a good time! It was so sad to see the damaged areas, but, thankfully, the FQ and business district are releventally unscathed. The food and music are still wonderful! Cafe du Monde is untouched (and the lattes and beignets are as good as ever!) Probably one of my favorite places in the world, so far.

Beautiful scenery

The mountains are so pretty here. Spring and Fall are the best times to visit here… The people are very nice and helpful.

Virginia

Worth visiting!

I've lived here

I lived in my young years in Manassas (Northern VA, outside the DC area), then lived in Lynchburg (central VA), for the next 10 years, It’s not very cosmopolitan, very Bible belt (it is the home of Jerry Falwell and the Moral majority- not my own cup of tea, but to each his or her own…), but beautiful scenery.

Georgia

Worth visiting!

Georgia is always on my mind!

I lived in Atlanta- twice! Once from 1992-94, then again, from 3/99-1/00. I currently live in the Savannah area (moved here 6/03), after having lived in Virginia again. The climate here can’t be beat! Just enough winter to know that it has been winter. The summer’s are nice, but I like hot and humid. The people are so nice…. Great place to live or visit. I have not found once place in GA in all of my travels that I haven’t enjoyed yet!
