We started off our holiday here in Sivota, a pretty village situated in the south of the island just a few miles sail from Vassiliki, which despite the tourism is worth a visit and definitely worth it if you’re a windsurfer. We didn’t spend too much time on the island as we island hopped but we did spent a night in Nidriana which has a lovely quiet beach and some nice places to eat. I’d highly recommend it to anybody heading to the Ionian :)

I recently went sailing in the south Ionian with my family and loved every minute. We went during last July as well, sailed for 1 week and stayed in a hotel in Kefalonia the next. We sailed for 2 weeks this time and I’d highly recommend it to anybody, with or without sailing experience! The sights are beautiful during the day and night, crystal clear waters, pretty Greek villages, caves along the coast of Meganissi, amazing stars at night and the food is out of this world. If going to Kefalonia a place worth visiting is Fiskardo on the north of the island which was untouched by the 1953 earthquake so many Venician buildings still stand along the harbour.
