over 6 years agoIf you want to go to Sinai then don´t go to Sharm, it is very crowded and touristy. Dahab is a much more laidback town, much cheaper, equaly as nice diving as in Sharm, and the touts are slightly less irritating.
If you Would like to see the two famous divesites: Raz Mohammed and the Thitlegorm then you can arrange that from Dahab as well
dahab itself has a lot of nice divessites as well. All of them are shoredives which is very good for beginners but still very nice for experienced divers. The best dive sites are The Canyon and the Blue Hole.
over 6 years agoI arrived here by ferry from Sumbawa with the idea to travel westward into Flores but i ended up staying in Labuan Bajo for two weeks. I did my Padi Open Water course here which was one of the best things i did in my life. At the time of writing i´ve done about 50 dives but nothing has compared to the wonderous underwaterworld of Flores/Komodo. Not having finished my divecourse yet i saw one of the most magnificent creatures of the sea: the Manta Ray, and not just one but four swimming against the current, eating plankton while we were trying to keep up with them. A thing to never forget. From that point i was hooked on diving. Go and see for yourself! Manta Ray Alley. And don’t miss the Komodo Dragons while your there and the avocado salad from Gardena Guesthouse while enjoying the view (see picture).
