Maryland

Worth visiting!

First Home

Though born in D.C., my parents were living in MD at the time, and I went to school there for the first 7 or 8 years of my life. The last place in MD I lived was Lanham.

The last time I went there was probably quite a few years ago when I went down to see some old friends, but I also probably passed through in ‘05 when visiting the D.C. area with my wife, Lisa. She had some family to visit.

Worth visiting!

old home

My family and I lived here for a few years when I was a kid, going to school in MD and church in D.C. Been there since leaving also though, to see friends and family.

Went to an air show once with my wife in 2005 while visiting her family there. It was friggen awsome.

Washington, D.C.

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

The first time I went to D.C., I was just born, literally. My parents were living in Maryland and working in D.C. at the time, and they continued to work in D.C. for the next 8 years. We also went to churh there at the United States headquarters of the HSA-UWC wich I’ve heard is near the geographical center of the city.

So I’ve been hear amny times while we lived in the area, but I’ve also been there since we moved away. Once on a school trip, another time visiting old friends, and one last time recently to visite the church and some of my wifes relatives.

The first time I went to this place

Supposedly I went to DisneyWorld when I was a year old. I would have selected “Not worth visiting.” but doing that would sacrifice my ability to say “I want to go back.”

I’d like to go back because I never really got to see it, my dad grew up in L.A., and I beleive his brother still lives there and I’ve never seen him in my entire life. Besides, it’s a big place that I here lots of cool things about.

Wisconsin

Worth visiting!

Osborn Family reunion.

My only memory of my father’s mother is in Wisconsin, where we had an Osborn family reunion. My older brother got a stuffed tiger and a broken arm on that trip. It was a long time ago, when I was like 5 or 6 or something(at the oldest, 7)-I don’t really remember. I say that it was worth going only because if I hand’t gone I would have never ment anyone on my dad’s side of the family while old enough to remember it.

One significant thing I remember about the trip becides Jeremy braking his arm was that he and I flew on a seperate flight from our parents. I don’t know why for sure, probably had to to with the airfair. It was the first time either of us had been on a plane since I was just a year old and he only 1 1/2, yet we managed on our own just fine, two kids-one not a teanager yet and the other just out of kindergarden. I remember being given good advice about the cabin pressure and ear pain, but no longer remember what the advice was.

Oh well. Perhaps I shoud go back there some time, say hi to the Wall family.

Germany

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

The first time I went to Germany was for a special religiouse ceremony within the Unification Church. It was to help rid ourselves of our sin and turn around 180 degrees to lead a more God-centered life. We heard speaches, drank holy wine, and did the ceremony where we hit ourselves and the people near us(not hard) rythmicly to music to chace away any evil spirits that may have attached to us to influence us as well as try to continue to live on earth through us.

It was pretty awsome. At one point, we were asked to pray outloud to our ancestors and tell them our problems and ask them to help. During that, I cried as I could have sworn I saw some somewhat-recently deceased grandfather take me by the hand and tell m not to worry about it, everythings going to be ok, and that they’d handle it.

I guess that’d my story about it. I’d like to go back though. I only stayed for a weekend for that workshop so I didn’t really get to see much of Germany. The train station there is awsome, if a little complicated. I’d rather be able to buy tickets from a person than deal with a machien.

I’ll probably go there again some time. European Headquarters for Unification Church(HSA-UWC) is there, and I am living in Norway, so I’m sure I’ll find the occasion to return.

How this place changed my life

This place changed my life because my wife, born in New York by an American Father and a Norwegian mother, has lived here since she was 3 years old, and now I’m living here with her.

Update on my VH Status

I no longer live here. I moved in Loddefjord (near Bergen) Norway in September to live with my half norwegian half american wife while she goes to pysiotherepy school. I will, however, be visiting for Christmas/newyears from the 21st of Dec. to the 11th of January. How can I make such a long visite? Well, unfortunately, I still have no job in this country, so I’ll actually be working at Brickman’s a bit (especially before Christmas) while I’m there. I’m very much looking forward to it.

The last time I went to this place

The last time I went here was to attend a 2nd Generation symposium on “The Future of the Unification Movement in North America: New Generation Voices.” at UTS (Unification Theological Seminary). It was pretty cool and people had a lot of good things to day.

The UTS grounds a beautiful. It used to be some Catholic building, I forget what exactly it was used for, but it still has the old stain glass and the same old walls and fixtures it had when it was originally built.
