Delft
Worth visiting!
My hometown D.F.T. — 3 years ago
Did you know Bill Clinton and his wife ate ‘Poffertjes’ (really small but thick pancakes) with strawberry’s in Delft!? There’s a lot you don’t know about Delft.
I’ve lived her from 3 years onwards!
My city is a historically very important city to Holland.
Walking through the center of Delft will give you a chance to see the incredible houses which were then used as storage places for the spices Dutchmen brought back from their trips to Spain, Portugal etc. The center’s amazing. I don’t go there a lot but on a sunny day it’s really impressive. The little canals which where used to transport the goods from the major harbor in Rotterdam and bridges are really nice to see. It’s beautifull. There’s also lots and lots of places to eat and drink.
Besides being a historically very important city Delft is also home to a University with a very big name T.U. Delft (Technical University of Delft) who’s students and professors are responsible for a lot of great inventions (from the new ice-skates with the clicking heel all ice-skaters use now to the material on the outside of the new Airbus airplane)
I actually gave Delft the nickname D.F.T. years ago – a nickname a lot of kids use regularly for the city. I make music and when I used to want to rhmye something to Delft I got as far as ‘Messing with Delft.. is bad for your health’ haha. But rhymin on D.F.T. a different story.
When you get the chance – do visit. And if you don’t get the chance.. create the chance. You’ll have one friend to start with – I’ll be your guide for the day :o)
