Kiev, Kyivshchyna

Untitled

I now have finally found the place in life that I am comfortable with! I became dizzy and almost fell in Independance Square, and then had an extremely powerful almost spiritual experience, a deja vu, I felt the place was familiar, I had been there before! I know my way around and I had very much felt as if I had: finally found my real “home.” The most difficult part was leaving. I am now living in the USA and I am terribly uncomfortable living there! I was so impressed with the togetherness of the Ukrainian and Russian Culture! I did not want to leave, I left to a lonely and desolate life here. I am miserable again, this is not a home! Leaving Kiev in November of 2006 have put tears into my eyes that have not yet dried now at the end of February 2007! I hope I live long enough to tell about future travels for the USA infrastructure is for killing the spirit of a person!

Netherlands, Europe

Untitled

For me, I must admit, was a time of a great love affair with a good looking and Tall Dutchman, being of the same origin as myself, a Swedish and French mix…I stayed with him in a small apartment above a Flowership in Utrecht…it was the summer wheb I had arrived and I had met him at Schiphol Airport in one of my favorite shops, World of Wings, which sells model airplanes…and other aviation related paraphenelia…I loved that summer…walking around hand in hand with this Dutchman…Unlike what I was used to on the other side of the Atlantic, I could carry on a conversation about almost anything, agree to disagree and go on. Europeans do not like conversations to be impersonal. They prefer to speak to whomever in person and not on the telephone…this is also because they live in well-organized cities and visit each more often. Etiquette and grooming still are important values in Europe and I love to look at the beautiful people of the Netherlands…if that wasn’t enough, the wonderful Architecture and landscape add to it…

I also recommmend Den Haag for families, there is a wonderful beach that is much like Myrtle beach and several theme parks!

I married that Dutchman. He came back with me to America. Both he and I were treated as foreigners (I still am because of my manner of speaking and the way I look). Unfortunately, America was too harsh for the sensitive character of my husband and he went back to the Netherlands…nevertheless, the experience was worth it!
