Just remember there is nothing I mean nothing you can do in this town for free other than walk and look… but its a nice place to visit in the winter time when there is snow on the ground

West Virginia has some GREAT white water if you hit it in the right season. I love to raft the upper and lower New River and the Upper Gauley. The upper gauley only runs in the fall between September and October (because this is when they release water from Summersville damn) and it is a hell of a ride from start to finish.

The Gauley has rapids that range from a class III to V+. For a five hours day of Extreme fun.

The Upper New River has rapids from I to III for a more laid back children friendly ride where you are able to get out of the boat and glide thru some of the rapids.

The Lower New alternates from Class II – V rapids to pools, allowing paddlers to take a break between the actions. The new has the best white water flow in the east in April – October, with spring rains traditionally bringing higher water levels for better rapids.

My first trip on the AT was with two of my friends and we did the 75 miles between Troutdale, VA and the Tennessee State Line.

It was a experience that has never let go now ever year I take one of my vacations to hike the AT, I suggest that everyone who loves the outdoors at least do a section hike somewhere on the trail. At the top of Mt. Rogers (Virginias Highest Point) the woods turns into open field that’s full of wild ponies that just roam around without a care in the world.

On the Trail we ran into some of the nicest people who talked to us like we were old friends from suggests on how to make the AT easier to the everyday trials and tribulations of life. It was amazing !!!!!

Chances are that of your on the east coast you have a part of the AT near you somewhere. So take a weekend loop hike!!!! Its sweet

It is a great time a nice air show and at night the most amazing fireworks display most people will ever see. I lived in Louisville for a few years and really enjoyed this event ever year. The only problem is on the Louisville side of the Ohio river the downtown area is really busy and can be a bear to move around. So I prefer the Jeffersonville side of the Ohio river you still have a great view of the firework and its not as busy. If you can get there go to Jimmies on the River for some good buys on drinks.

Make sure to try out a little place called Two Friends Patio Restaurant. Our food was perfect and very reasonable oh yeah try the crab cake burger. They are located near in historic Key West near the seaport
