New Mexico

Worth visiting!

Why I recommend this place to visitors

I love the desert and the stones in this area. I love the jewelry, I love the Indian artifacts, and I would love to go back and visit more Adobe houses. Taking your time and driving through this geographic region is the best way to experience the area. Stopping along the roadside and going out in the desert is the best, but you have to be patient and willing to take your time. Hunting for rocks takes up most of my time here and it is so fun to see the different types of stone. You can’t go too many places in a city and pick up an arrowhead or a spear head or some other ancient artifact of human history, whereas in the desert you are more likely to find that “hidden something”: a fossil, a special gem, or some new species of animal or insect you never knew about. If you walked out of your house there every day and picked up one new thing, you would never run out of new things to look at, or something that may be a new discovery. The colors are mostly an orangey-yellow-reddish, and when the sun hits the top of the mountains it is beautiful because the whole place illuminates like God is shining down. It is a perfect place for those people who like to explore but still have an extreme respect for nature and tribal heritages. It certainly beats any man-made entertainment park for a vacation. There is always something new to find, even if it is old. Besides, if you get lost while visiting in the New Mexico desert, if you don’t freeze to death at night you will always be able to get a good tan during the afternoon.

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport

Worth visiting!

Funniest airport I have been through yet...

The Dallas Airport is one of my favorite transfer spots when you are flying across country because you cannot get bored there while waiting for that next flight. There is almost every type of shop or fast food restaurant you could think of and the crowds are not bad. Making your stay a pleasant one while you are there, you get to go from terminal to terminal on the most rickety tram I have ever been on; it is going fast parallel to the highway, yes-the HIGHWAY-then compleley slows down to almost a crawl without a stop warning. So you have to think it is a pit stop for the wild ride, but the train jerks forward again and then throws you around the corners. The heat is almost unbearable during the days so you have to fan yourself in order to stay alive. The people watching is marvelous, if you think you could stand watching obese tourists and child burdened parents with screaming kids for a few hours and still retain your sense of humor. You get to have a nice meal and a comedy show in real life Texas time, and it certainly beats a transfer through Atlanta. It is a big place, but definately easy for travel.

Union Station

This is a great place for food and shopping. You have to get cocoa at Godiva. The inside of this place is amazing and it is still a train station. Awesome.

Cherokee Bear Park and Zoo

My mom and dad’s best friends own it. It is so fun to play with the baby bears and the tigers! I really like the lemur. She kisses me on the ears. Downstairs they have great ice cream and homemade candy. They also have mini-golf, and it is fun to spend the day with my family.

Asheville

Worth visiting!

Biltmore in Asheville NC

I grew up in Asheville. It is really pretty and there is tons of stuff to do. For houses, you have to see the Biltmore Estate and for hotels the Richmond Hill Inn or Grove Park are where we go for family holidays and dinners. Downton is really good. I like Wall Street and the Flat Iron building. Tupelo Honey has the best food, and there is drumming Saturday Night in Pritchard Park. My mom, dad, and I love the hockey games!!! I miss all these things when we are not there, but I miss the mountains the most. Asheville is good because it is very pretty but not too cold. Hiking with my dog is good, too, especially to visit the waterfalls. Lots of outdoor concerts and theater all the time, too make the place very, very cool. Rolling Stone mag wrote about us—if you want more info.

DC is awesome

I like living in a big city, and this one is pretty fun. All the museums are free, so you can learn alot. It is neat to see it in real life where all the politics go on. I want to go to college here and be president one day!

Charleston

Worth visiting!

Charleston SC is the Best

If you like history and love the water, this is the best place to live or visit. We like having picnics in Battery Park and feeding the squirrels, going out on the boat, and walking downtown.I think I like Charleston the best because it is usually voted “city with the best manners”. The food is really good, too. Folly Beach is pretty fun in the summer when everyone is around.
