You should go and spend a day. Buy a pass to ride the shuttle system and check out everything up and down the river in the area, including the botanical gardens, butterfly garden and the whirlpool. It’s a great time to spend with your family, totally kid-friendly and lots of fun. (Or, if you’re kid-free, you can sightsee all day and gamble all night at the casino – but only if you have money to burn, I think winners are more rare than people who’ve gone over the falls in a barrel and survived!)

Not only have I been to the Eiffel Tower, I started a sing-along while I was up on top. 20 points if you can guess what song!

There’s nothing like shopping at Harrod’s. You have to buy something, even if your goal is to just go in and wander around. I think I bought an umbrella, just to experience the amazing Harrod’s service. Just remember—Harrod’s customers must be properly shod!

I could’ve spent a week, maybe two. If you’re a history lover (like me) then budget the time to spend a couple of days wandering the exhibits and halls of The British. It’s amazing.

And it was a great place, at least it was 22 years ago. I’m not sure about it now, the people seem a little harder, the streets a bit dirtier, the cost of living much higher.

Still, everyone should experience Paris at least in their lifetimes.

And, preferably start a sing-along on the Eiffel Tower, like I did.
