I moved here from Chicago and have lived in Phoenix for six months now. The place looks like a giant suburb with no sense of neighborhoods or communities. There is hardly any world class arts or culture to speak of. There’s a joke of a symphony, opera and theater here. The majority of the people are either white trash with money (Scottsdale), white trash with no money (most other areas), Hispanic (whatever‘s left). If you think this is diversity then you really need to get our more. The restaurants are mediocre, the architecture is terrible, there’s no downtown to go to and all the surrounding cities making up the greater Phoenix area look alike. Every place of business you need to go to is in a mall! Phoenix is the worst example of sprawl run wild in the Country!

Everybody here looks way older than they really are because they spend all their time baking in the sun. Dry heat is ok? Turn your oven on and set it to 115 degrees and stick your head in there for a while. Tell me if you think it feels fine. The city has some of the worst smog and pollution in the country. People with allergies stay away! It’s also a telling sign when there’s hardly any institutions of higher learning to speak of in the Phoenix area beside ASU. The state ranks dead last in education. The roads are filled with drunk rednecks in jacked up pickup trucks wasting gas and killing people in collisions. These same drunk rednecks (and they’re really read in Arizona) are allowed to carry guns. Real good idea there. What idiots came up with the idea to put a major city in the desert? Save your time and money and go someplace else.
