I remember there was a guide on the boat telling us about various stuff. The only part I remember was him talking about what the area exports, and I was like “how do you export electricity?”
Well, duh…through power lines. But hey, the scenery was beautiful and I’m not a native Spanish speaker, so I’m not overly embarrassed by my blonde moment.

over 4 years agoI went back in 2004. I loved it! I only saw a little of Santo Domingo (zoo, some casino where Aguakate was playing on New Year’s, the Malecon…), but I will definitely return. Next time I want to take the ferry to Puerto Rico.
I’m thinking about retiring there. One thing for sure, I have to include money in my budget for a chauffeur. I seriously doubt I’d be bold enough to drive myself around. And…if I do retire there, I’m going to figure out the cheapest way to get cereal over there. Went to the supermarket and Frosted Flakes were like $5!
