New York City
Worth visiting!
I thought it was cat...I swear!
Being from a Halifax, a city of just over 300,000 residents, I was astounded by everything I had seen in NYC. Being a true North American and having at least half my childhood spent watching TV, I could pick out just about every building I came across. The smallest thing like the subway was such an event for me. It’s strange seeing something countless times in movies and on the tube and then being there. I guess I was bit celebrity struck about the place. While coming home late on Friday night from the Apollo theater in Harlem, I was looking down at the tracks in the subway station and could not believe how dirty they were. I mean, the dirt had dirt. Then all of a sudden, about 30 ft. away I seen a cat. My heart just about fell out. I was scared for this little creature that this anonymous city didn’t want. So I called to the cat…looking for anything in my bag that might serve as a meal. Then it hit me. This was not a cat. It was a rat the size of a Buick. Everything is bigger in the US it seems…rodents too.
