Beautiful city of stone and slate, home to both ancient and modern tapestries of the Apocalypse, an 11th century castle, a 13th century cathedral, two universities, lots of irish pubs, beautiful gardens, and the Cointreau museum/plant. How can you go wrong? I studied here for a year in college and it was amazing. Check it out!

Read St. Therese’s “Story of a Soul” before you go. It’s an amazing book, and will really give some context to the place. St. Therese’s basillica is gorgeous, and the gift shop is out front and sort of underground… in there you can buy all kinds of products made by monks and nuns from all over… spices, toilletries, jewelry, honey and preserves… it’s very neat.
