I was lucky enough to live here for 4 years and hands down is probably the best city in the US! I loved being able to get anywhere within the city by train/cab/walking and the Navy Pier was awesome. Can’t wait to return.

I love this place and one of the best things about it is the little “marketers” they have selling handmade stuff—especially the jewelry. Loved it.

The city is constantly changing and the Landing is no exception. I hope the future is good for the city of Jax and the Landing prospers. Its a beautiful spot on the river.

This place is the sort of place you go to when you have OODLES of time!!! One of my favorite “haunts”.

Is that it is haunted by three girls—two of which were the lighthouse keepers daughters and one a lighthouse builders daughter who were all tragically killed when the pushcart they were playing in trapped them underwater drowning them. They say you can hear the girls laughing inside the lighthouse when it is quiet. As well you can also smell the pipe/cigar burning of a previous lighthosue keeper who died. Both stories have been the subject of a television show.

Interesting trivia for those into the paranormal.

An incredible zoo, that is amazing because it’s within sucha large city. Living in Jax, Fl the zoo here is really nothing to be compared with the Brookfield Zoo. So much to see and do—it’s one of the greatest things I miss about living in Chicago.

io I77 at least twice a year and I have to say it’s some of the most beautiful scenery. The people are genuine and very kind and if you ever have the opportunity to wander off the “beaten path” of the interstate, there’s some amazing sights to to be viewed.

A small awesome bit of the exotic in Avondale. The hummus is to die for and the hookah pipes come in a delicious variety of flavors. Plus if you go on the weekend, the belly dancers are incredible and it makes you feel like you have traveled to another continent! Its awesome!

Sadly, for as big as Jax is the zoo leaves a lot to be desired. Cleveland Zoo, Brookfield Zoo, Columbus Zoo, and San Diego zoo are incredible places and blow Jax Zoo out of the water-even the Alligator Farm is a better place. I couldnt get into the Jax zoo-it was small, the enclosures were out dated and the rats were over taking the animals. It’s was very pathetic especially for the price of admission. With this SuperBowl city something should be done as far as improvements, although I realize that the city is in the red big time and wehen making cuts the zoo is near the top of the list.

I lived here for 4 years and LOVED it. Would move back ina heart beat! SO much to do—Museum of Natural History, Shedd Aquarium, Art Museum, Navy Pier and some of the best restaurants!! And being in Chicago for St Pats Day is a MUST!
