this is where they filmed some of The Patriot with Mel Gibson. visited in March 2005. it was a little cool; will go again some time when it’s warmer. so cozy, historic, quaint, and lovely. a great getaway. very eerie to drive back the lane at dusk and see the slave houses and chapel. it gave me goosebumps. you expect to see ghosts or spirits of those who lived there running across the lane in front of you. stayed in the north guest house. huge comfy bed and fireplace. terrific breakfasts. and historic georgetown is worth checking out, too. tell katherine we said hi!! if you look up “southern hospitality” in the dictionary, there’s a picture of her and her stuffed french toast!! yum!!

wow! we went last weekend, the 26th of august and it was fun!! i wouldn’t recommend going at the end of august - it was packed. BUT we bought our tickets online the night before and got a coupon to park and got right into the aquarium - no problem! no lines for us! it was really neat!! definitely recommend it! and we got the fleet pass to see the Constellation, the Korsk, and the other ships in the harbor. They were really neat. Had a great time!!

lived here for a year and a half. loved it!! may be moving back when hubby graduates from college…..
