Stay at the Coral Cove Chalet in the Grand View Suite. It’s the best money I’ve ever spent on a hotel room. Rent a car and visit all the island’s waterfalls. Have a Thai-style lobster dinner.

Start in the valley where it was warm and at the second to last stop, it was so cold I had to buy a sweater from the nearby shop. The most pleasant women gave my an Edelweiss flower. I now carry it behind my passport for good luck while traveling.

It is stunning, offers the chance to hike between the villages on a very aggressive trail with unparrelled views, and if you can find some, the best homemade limoncello.
