Musée D'Orsay, 7e Arrondissement

Untitled

This museum is in an old train station….how fantastic! The artwork is arranged in an easy to view manner, making it easy to see so many amazing works of art in only one day. If you are a fan of Impressionists/Post-Impressionists, this is the musuem for you. Wonderful Degas’, Renoirs’, Gauguins’, Manets’, etc……

I find this musuem so much easier to ENJOY than the Louvre. So, make sure to save some time on your trip to Paris for this lovely place.

Musée Du Louvre, 1er Arrondissement

Untitled

This place is huge.

I’ve been there three times. I’ve never had enough energy for the place. Make sure you are ready for a VERYBIG museum. Find a good guide book that can tell you where all of the artwork is. The maps in the museum are ok, but not great, a guide book will help. DON’T TRY TO SEE IT ALL, unless you are spending a long time in Paris, and can afford to spend a few days in the museum. Otherwise, plan your trip carefully, and don’t take young children.

Oh, and the Mona Lisa is crowded, small, and you can’t take pictures or stand within ten feet of it. Not a great experience.

La Sagrada Família, Eixample

Untitled

Its amazing to see this church in the middle of a lifetime of construction. Its lovely to be inside and see the sky above you. The cathedral is so big, that its baffling. The story about Gaudi, and his inspiration is really moving. This is the best site I saw when I was in Barcelona.
